Uncle John's Place

Another favorite moment: meeting Uncle John and Mami Rebekah's mother. It was priceless. Uncle John is so kind. I could tell first by meeting him because of his eyes. They are just like Mami's and her father's (I saw a picture). I asked Pastor Caralyn if he was a compassionate man- she told me he would never hurt anyone..yes, he was very loving. Mami loved her father so much, and was remembering him this day (yesterday). We visited the village she was born. Uncle John, is her youngest brother (8 children total I believe!) Wow. He is a farmer like his father was...very intelligent farmer, Mami says. It is custom to do two things: when you visit relatives, you give all the children money (10 rupees) and when we were leaving, the couple (Uncle John and his wife) asked for blessing to their elder (Mami Rebekah) by bending low to her feet and they kiss them! ;) So precious. They also have a tradition to receive blessing when you leave. Uncle John gave me the sign of the cross on my forehead when I got in the van. Her family is so loving. I would like to go back and visit there.
