AMUDALA

Sunday, I was invited to go with Pastor John to his village, AMUDALA, he grew up in and had pastored there for 14 years! At first the entire village was Hindu, now it is Christian! This is a true testimony of Grace! He was going to preach on the “Ministry of Healing” and I would bring a greeting. I told them a little about me and then shared with them 1 Peter 2:9: They are a chosen people! Called out of darkness into His marvelous light. Amen. I met a few people after and was offered a traditional South-indian meal! Good thing I had practice eating with my hands…but somehow it feels more natural-duh!  Haha.

This is Martin, he is the "chef's son" (I ate his father's cooking! It was good.)

The Processional: drums and singing to church, Sunday morning...in AMUDALA.

This is me in Pastor Caralyn's sari with jasmine flowers. Top Picture: Pastor John with two elders of the church in AMUDALA.

Traveling fun...with Peligrino!

Having a little photo-fun in the Brussels Airport. There was a two-hour wait to board a 9 hour flight to Chennai. Peligrino became my friend at NY and we found each other again in the Brussels airport.

I was born for this moment...

Day One (Night one was spent driving to my destination…went to sleep at 3:11am and awoke at my alarm—noon! That’s a first! Well, I was actually awake earlier with the BIRDS pecking at my window—Yes, Pastor, they are still here…I am in your room….)
Here’s the song that is on my heart this morning:
You’re the God of this city, Sholinghur…
You’re the king of this nation, India..you are!
There is no one like My God. There is no one like my king.
You are the light in the darkness. You’re the hope to the hopeless…you are!
There is no one like you, God.
Ps. 66: 12…we went through fire and through water; YET YOU HAVE BROUGHT US OUT TO A PLACE OF ABUNDANCE! This scripture I declared this morning over God’s House. That God’s House would be the place of abundance.
I declared this at breakfast as well—to Pastor Paul. I pray I can be an encouragement daily to the needs here at God’s house…and a servant! The servant of the most High King, my King, Jesus! ..in the kitchen, in song, dance, smile—He is my All in All and I want it to show!
WOOOHOOOO…IM HERE IN INDIA—I MADE IT! 
On a funny, practical side of mission life: So, last minute packing of the washcloths, I forgot them!!…and I am not going to be a needy missionary needing so much every moment from the family and young ladies here to serve me…SO, I used a sock!  Works quite well, actually I don’t think I will need a wash cloth. Hahaha.
Today I met “A-KEEL-A” AND “EMMA”—two (14?) girls that stayed home from school today. I am not sure the spelling of their names—but I remember their faces. One is in the picture with me on the front porch—you will see that one on your refrigerator or wherever you placed the PRAYER PICTURE. Don’t forget to pray for God’s House. There are so many needs…But God! Shall supply every ONE! Amen. Oh, and I got to say good morning and God bless you to the pastors that Pastor Paul oversees in the villages –they come every Thursday for prayer, then they “break fast” with a yummy meal that “Mami Rebekah” makes. I hugged the women of the pastors…they smile so beautifully at me! I told them I want to eat with them next week! 
Love you all…
I am looking forward to the days ahead…stay tuned!

From Apprehension to Excitement...

Hello Friends and Family Support!

I love you all very much!

I am at the Tampa Airport now boarding my first plane to NY! Then I will be there till evening to fly into Chennai. It is a 19 hour flight! I will have a book, my DVD player/ Ipod --so I am ready for some sleep, some entertainment and some curry!! I will experience curry I know on the plane ride over..it gets me ready for the cultural experience I am about embark upon. Please pray for safety and EASE through the airports/ customs.

Thank you again for giving to the Lord through your time, prayers, and money! Oh, if you have been asking, "Alexis, what is your address, I want to send you a care package"---hold that thought! I heard from a wise source, that people SHOULD NOT send care packages! If I even got them, there might be a charge to recieve them, and I don't even know how far it is to pick up mail. So, if you desire to send a care package, in lieu you could send the same amount you would spend on the package to my P.O. Box 5421 Lakeland, Fl 33807 and make the check/ money order out to TLC Family Church for tax-deductible credit. Thank you again!

Love, Alexis

Indian Cuisine!

My friends Latosha and Georgia surprised me Tuesday for a dining experience...Indian Cuisine!! I had Spinach Lamb. It was delicious. The experience was not complete without using my hands to eat! Thank you friends...I am a little more ready just by being with you two fun-loving people. You made my day!

To you reading, thank you for your thoughts, prayers and support! I am amazed each day at people's willingness to give to the children of India. The other day I was given a computer with children's software for the children at God's House to use. I am so excited! With God, all of this is possible. I anticipate what next He will do to prove His love for the children and His love for me! Thanks again and stay tuned...
